Harper Gates is a 2026 SS/RHP/3B with a 6-0 160 lb. frame from Tomball, TX who attends Tomball. Recorded a 7.62 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop with a medium and well-proportioned build. Showed good balance and clean glovework in the infield. Worked into a clean transfer and used a medium length arm action. Good intent to actions and solid arm strength across the diamond, up to 81 mph. Right-handed hitter and starts with a medium base, even feet, and a high back elbow and hands. Stays short and direct to the ball, keeping the hands tight to the body. Bat stays on a level path through through the zone. Easy stroke and stayed under control. Showed best power to pull side gap. Secondary right-handed pitcher and begins delivery with a leg lift to core level, landing on line at foot strike. Easy, low effort delivery and utilizes a short arm action throught the back, releasing from a mid-3/4 slot. Topped at 82 mph with the fastball, featuring sink to it. Mixed in firm slider that showed tight, lateral break.
