Ross Highfill is a 2022 C/3B/OF with a 6-0 205 lb. frame from Madison, MS who attends Madison Central. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and present physical strength proportioned well throughout frame. Ran a 6.48 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, lower set behind the plate, athleticism plays in actions, quick arm through the back, will continue to refine overall footwork, works on top of throws and shows accuracy down to second base while gaining ground, big arm strength on throws, 1.98 best pop time. Right-handed hitter, begins with a narrow and slightly open base with a high hand set; shifts into contact well and does a nice job of remaining direct to the ball upon launch. Occasionally gets to front side early with shift but it's an easy and low effort swing, able to generate leverage at the point of contact when extended out front. Creates solid present bat speed though the zone with jump to the pull side off of the barrel. Very good student. Verbal commitment to Southern Miss. Selected to the Perfect Game All-American Classic.
