Maika Niu is a 2022 SS/RHP, 3B, OF with a 6-1 185 lb. frame from Mechanicsburg, PA who attends Trinity. Strong athletic build. Ran the 60-yard dash in 6.60 seconds. Primary infielder, has a cannon, was clocked up to 84 mph on throws across the diamond. Is athletic and moves well across the diamond. Displayed firm accurate throws, has a quick transition with good footwork. Also worked out in the outfield, displayed good hands and quick footwork, clocked up to 93 mph on throws from the outfield. His speed allows him to cover a lot of ground in the outfield and allows he to be a threat on the bases. Right-handed hitter, hits from an upright even base, has a level swing with good bat speed. Good student. Was named to the Southwest Prospect Top Prospect List. Verbal commitment to the University of New Orleans.
