Derek Guzman is a 2026 SS/2B/3B with a 5-10 150 lb. frame from Charlotte, NC who attends Davidson Day School. Medium frame with a lean athletic build. Primary shortstop, good quickness around the dirt with already very sound footwork to get to the spots, efficient angles and good timing, fields it clean and transfers well, good arm strength already up to 85 mph across and showed consistency in making good plays. Right-handed hitter, slightly open setup and moves in well, real hand and barrel speed already, swings it hard and gets good length through the zone, whips the barrel well and gets good extension out front while backspinning the baseball to the pull gap, already good jump off barrel in flashes and projects to more.
