Bryce Matthews is a 2019 OF/1B with a 6-4 185 lb. frame from Parker, CO who attends Chaparral. Large, long frame with an athletic build. Projects for additional strength while maintaining athleticism. Ran a 6.81 sixty-yard dash. Primary outfielder with smooth paced, deliberate footwork while closing to the baseball. Clean glove actions while working through the baseball with efficient glove to hand exchanges. Long arm circle at separation and released from a three-quarters arm slot. Throws produced solid carry to the bag with accuracy topping at 79 miles per hour. Left handed hitter with an upright, even stance and large leg lift trigger. Generates some shift into contact with linear lower half actions. Loose, extended path to contact with present bat speed and strength through the zone. Looks to turn the barrel to contact on a lifted plane, created good carry to the pull side gap when on time and squared. Named to the 2017 Rocky Mountain Showcase Top Prospect List.
