John Lobs is a 2024 RHP/1B/3B with a 6-2 195 lb. frame from Winston-Salem, NC who attends Reagan. Large frame with current physicality especially for his class, with more time to develop further. Ran the 60 yard dash in 7.97 seconds. Primary position RHP, starting with an offset stance and moving towards the middle of the rubber at balance. Tall over the rubber with controlled leg lift, coming out of the glove at the belt. Works inline with his arm loading it quickly at foot strike. Uses lower body well riding down the mound and extending well. Displayed feel for release point consistently and has an idea what he's doing on the bump. FB sitting in the low-80's and peaking at 83 with late action to the arm side with occasional sink. Mid-70's SL with good spin traits in the mid-70's generating swing and miss. Also showed workable CH to complete his 3-pitch mix. Projection for velocity jump soon. Secondary CIF, moving feet well and making all the plays. Not refined with glove work but he secured the ball with ease. Accurate throws from low 3/4 release. RHH using a narrow stance, loading into backside and swinging with intent. Generated solid bat speed with high hand set and displayed good rhythm. Ball jumps off barrel with loft to the pull side gap. Performed in all aspects in game action, showing intriguing two-way potential. Outstanding student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
