Giancarlo Melendez is a 2024 2B/3B, SS, OF with a 5-6 140 lb. frame from Caguas, PR who attends Puerto Rico Baseball Academy. Recorded a 7.11 60-yard dash. Primary infielder with an athletic look. Showed that athleticism in the infield, displaying soft hands, and working through the ball well. Adjusted and changed arm slot, throwing across the diamond with solid arm strength. Right-handed hitter and starts from a narrow base with a high back elbow and hands. Uses clean weight shift, taking a short, direct path to the ball. Showed a line drive oriented swing, using and showing his best power to the middle of the field during the round. Excellent student.
