Tyler Sumner is a 2024 OF/LHP with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Mooresville, NC who attends Lake Norman. Recorded a 7.26-second sixty-yard dash time. Medium, compact build with some present strength throughout his frame. Primary outfielder, aggressive approach to the ball, carrying his momentum through his throws. Present arm strength with carry on his throws, up to 83 mph. Clean glove actions as he fielded off his front foot. Secondary left-handed pitcher, athletic operation with a slight pause in during his leg-lift, using his entire frame to drive down the mound. Up to 77 mph with his fastball that flashed some cutting action as he worked on both sides of the plate. Good feel for a 1-7 shaped curveball, that showed some depth and feel for spin. Left-handed hitter, slightly open stance with a high-hand set and a high back elbow. Uphill swing plane with developing feel for the barrel. Tendency to get stuck on his backside, getting rotational with his lower half. Barrel is short through the zone, flashing some impact to the middle of the field when he was on time. Excellent student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
