Jonathan Esponda is a 2026 3B/1B/OF with a 6-1 200 lb. frame from Miami Gardens, FL who attends Mater Academy Charter. Large, square shouldered frame with present strength proportioned throughout frame. Ran a 7.25 60-yard dash. Primary third baseman, athleticism plays in actions and hands play well to both the forehand and backhand with comfort for the glove, arm plays on left side of the diamond with carry and plays under control with sound instincts in live action. Similar athleticism plays in outfield actions, longer gather and exchange but nice present arm strength and carry to the intended base. Right-handed hitter, begins with a medium base and spread stance with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate. Barrel wrap at start of swing, best contact to the pull side when getting the barrel extended out front. Comfort to pull side with ability to leave the yard, ball jumps when squared, potential to unlock even more strength with further refinement. Named to the Sunshine East Top Prospect List. Excellent student.
