Haydn Caughren is a 2025 RHP/1B/3B/OF with a 6-3 190 lb. frame from Irvine, CA who attends Crean Lutheran. Tall and athletic/physical build with room still to grow. Has present strength and the frame projects well moving forward. Works from the stretch with a long off-line arm action to a high 3/4's arm slot, some energy at release. Fastball topped out at 84 mph and worked mostly in the low 80's, has some ride up through the zone. Also threw a short slider that flashed some tightness and spin. Worked out all over the field during drills and showed lots of arm strength at all positions. Up to 89 mph from the infield and threw an event-best 88 mph from first base. 7.78 runner in the sixty. Right handed hitter, hits from an even stance with a busy hand load, has a long and loose swing with good extension out front, best contact pulling. Showed definite strength in the swing and recorded an event-best 94 mph exit velo off the tee. Named to the 2023 West Coast Top Prospect Games Top Prospect List. Good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
