Benjamin Segura is a 2023 RHP/OF with a 6-0 173 lb. frame from St Cloud, FL who attends St. Cloud. Lean athletic build with plenty of room to get stronger. Works from the stretch with a high 3/4's arm slot on the mound with a full and clean arm circle in back, lands about a foot closed out front but loose enough to clear his arm, creates good downhill and side to side angle to the plate. Fastball worked in the low 80's and topped out at 84 mph, mostly straight with occasional running action, velocity plays up a bit with his deception and angle. Change up was his best pitch this outing, gets nice fading action and is located with confidence. Only flashed a soft slider, tends to get too far on the side of it. Right handed hitter, hits from a slightly open stance with a load to his back side, moves through the ball well with a short line drive swing with some strength behind it, gets some carry when he gets out front. 7.01 runner in the sixty. Secondary outfielder when not on the mound, showed his arm strength well in drills with the same long and loose arm stroke and good carry. Solid all around athlete with some projection left in his body. Named to the Sunshine East Showcase Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
