2021 Fall Gulf Coast Showcase
Will McDonald is a 2024 1B/LHP/OF with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from Tallahassee, FL who attends Lawton Chiles. Athletic build with some present strength and room for plenty more. Right handed hitter, hits from a straight bent knee stance, gets into his slot with his hands on time and gets nice separation and a solid swing path through contact, nice leverage and the makings of some power and jump, created some back spin and carry, projects well as a hitter. 7.09 runner in the sixty. Left handed thrower and a primary first baseman on defense, had athletic actions at first base with soft hands fielding the ball, good overall actions. Also worked out in the outfield and could develop there with more repetitions. Took a turn on the mound, has smooth low effort mechanics, medium length arm action, best stuff and command when working from the stretch. Fastball topped out at 78 mph, mostly straight. Change up was a good pitch with arm speed and some fading action, also threw a short slider a couple of times. Good young athlete whose bat looks promising. Good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
