Zakary Packingham is a 2018 1B/OF with a 6-3 210 lb. frame from Hiawatha, IA who attends John F Kennedy. Large frame with broad shoulders, long limbs and a strong build. Ran a 6.54 sixty-yard dash. Primary first baseball with deliberate footwork while surrounding the baseball. Funnels out front and worked through transfer with developing fluidity. Flashed athletic actions while moving off the bag and ranging to each side. Released from a three-quarters slot topping at 70 miles per hour. Also worked out defensively from the outfield showing smooth, athletic footwork while closing to the baseball. Funnels the baseball off to side and worked through exchange well. Loose arm circle at separation and released from a three-quarters slot producing softer carry to the bag, topped at 70 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with a slightly crouched, even stance. Shifts into contact well with linear lower half actions. Swung with extreme intent and produced very good bat speed on a naturally lifted plane through extension. Developing feel for the barrel throughout the zone but producing explosive contact between the gaps when on time and squared.
