Luis Perez is a 2017 OF/RHP with a 6-0 188 lb. frame from Miramar, FL who attends Everglades HS. Medium, athletic frame with broad shoulders and nice present strength proportioned throughout frame. Ran a 7.15 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, short steps moving towards the ball, fields the ball out front, extra step while gathering, short and compact arm action with a tighter release, works over front side well and projects with addtional lower half involved, some effort but ball comes out clean with carry. Righthanded hitter, begins with an even, bent knee stance and a high hand set and back elbow in the box. Shifts weight well through lower half and clears hip well, stays short to the ball and utilizes a contact approach, executes well. Works all fields, best contact to middle of field with line drives coming off the barrel, nice bat speed through the zone. Very good student.
