2023 National Underclass Showcase-Main Event
Reed Hayes is a 2025 OF with a proportional 6-1 195 lb. athletic frame from Roanoke, IN who attends Canterbury HS. Started off the event clocking a 7.05 60-yard dash. Hayes is a primary outfielder on defense. Shows solid fundamental footwork through the ball, long and loose arm swing from a 3/4 arm slot, and gets good carry on his throws with accuracy. Right handed hitter, hits from a wider stance with limited lower half shift into contact, upper body swing with downhill path from a high hand start, works gap to gap with nice strength at contact, can get into his strong lower half more generating additional power and lift. Also pitched, works exclusively from the stretch with a 3/4 arm slot from a high hand set, gets into his lower half well coming down the mound, has a pause at the top of his delivery that needs more consistency. Fastball topped out at 88 mph, adn mixed in a slider and a changeup. Excellent student.
